Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays and Thank You!

I want to say thank you to our loyal customers, supporters, business partners, and our team.

In 2021, we continued working and helping clients amidst the challenges caused by the February Freeze, shortages of supply and demand.  Our determination and loyalty to you are what keeps Big State Construction moving forward and keeping true to our mission, “Rebuilding Houston.”

This year was filled with growth and opportunities to remain present in our community.

In April, I participated with LiftFund as a speaker. I represented small business owners in their discussion of the current state and their outlook on the journey to long-term recovery post the Pandemic.

NHPO (National Hispanic Professional Organization) interviewed me to discuss small business owners’ opportunities on their Facebook LIVE show and how we had to pivot and work on new processes and procedures of doing business.

In May, a full-circle moment, I served as a Keynote Speaker at the National Society of Leadership and Success during their Induction Ceremony at the Houston Community College.

In July, Big State Construction participated at the Houston Community College Southwest Construction Careers Expo to provide career paths and job or internship opportunities.

In October, Big State Construction also participated at the Annual Luncheon hosted by the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce with over 1200+ in attendance who learned more about our mission.

In November, I was allowed to be a proud nominee and represent women in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction in Houston at the Regional Hispanic Association.

Words I live by are “Nothing I do; I do alone.” 2021 was a year of hard work and many rewards! I am grateful for the team and you all who have been part of the journey.

Big State Construction proudly serves the community by being involved with local non-profit organizations.

I look forward to the achievements we will accomplish together in 2022.

Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy holiday season!

Gabriela Smith
